Don’t miss these events and things to do!
If you’re looking for excitement this autumn, the Gold Coast is where you’ll find it. There are heaps of exciting things to look forward to from March to May, just two of which includes Beyond the Sand Festival and this year’s highly-anticipated Blues on Broadbeach.
For those of you in NSW and Victoria, now’s the time to head on over!
Get your calendar at the ready – here are 5 things to look forward to this autumn on the Gold Coast.
All the following are COVID Safe.
1. Beyond the Sand Surfers Paradise
Kicking off autumn on the Gold Coast is Beyond the Sand Arts Festival in Surfers Paradise. Previously known as Sand Safari Arts Festival, this celebration of expression and lifestyle will turn Surfers Paradise Beach into one giant art canvas featuring mind-blowing sand art sculptures of all shapes and sizes.
Expect live sand art, live entertainment – including circus acts and DJs – plus workshops, market stalls and a bustling family atmosphere. It’s FREE to attend, coming for nine whole days from March 13 to March 21.
2. Easter
Spend the Easter weekend soaking up the sun on the beach, dining in style and visiting the Gold Coast’s best attractions. If you’re planning an Easter break with the kids, make sure it’s memorable by heading to Dreamworld, Movie World, Wet’n’Wild Water Park, Currumbin Sanctuary, Sea World or Surfers Paradise.
Coming with a partner? Then don’t miss Carbine Club Raceday at the Gold Coast Turf Club. This Easter Saturday Raceday offers a full day at the races, plus world-class trackside dining, on April 3.
3. Autumn School Holiday
The two-week April school holiday is the perfect reason to escape to the Gold Coast and enjoy everything it has to offer. Along with the beaches and attractions, there are two events you can catch during the school break itself!
The first is Gold Coast Film Festival, offering outdoor cinema, film premieres, panel events, workshops and more across the region from April 14 to April 15.
The second is Supanova Comic Con Gold Coast, taking over the Gold Coast Convention Centre in Broadbeach with a full weekend of comic, anime and gaming exhibits plus special guests, merchandise exhibitors and cosplay on April 17 and April 18.
4. Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day 2021 comes right after Easter and the school break, and there isn’t a better way to spoil her than by whisking her away to the Gold Coast. Sunbathe and dine on the beach, take a stroll of the parks and don’t miss one of the following events!
Tina Arena at Gold Coast Convention Centre – Tina Arena performs her best-selling hits up close and personal at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, not to be missed for diehard Tina Arena fans on May 8.
Psychic and Holistic Fair Carrara Markets – Psychic & Holistic Fair takes over the Carrara Markets exclusively for the Mother’s Day weekend, offering a range of psychic readings and experiences, cosmetic products, homewares and more on May 8 and May 9.
5. Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival 2021
THE biggest event happening this autumn!
Blues on Broadbeach 2021 is gearing up for another four-day lineup of international and local blues, rock and folk artists. It’s FREE and simply not to be missed – expect a massive lineup, multiple outdoor stages in Broadbeach and a vibrant family-friendly atmosphere from May 20 to May 23.
